Research Director
Dr. Lacey Hartigan serves as the Research Director for EMT Associates, Inc. Her work focuses on prevention science and behavioral health in school and community settings and includes work on numerous state- and federally funded projects such as the TN Together Student Survey and Higher Ed Survey, TN’s State Opioid Response grants (TN SOR I, II, and III), and TN Advancing Wellness and Resilience in Education grants (TN AWARE, Cohorts 1, 2, and 3). For the past three years, she has also served as an adjunct faculty in Vanderbilt’s Peabody College in the Leadership and Learning in Organization online Doctor of Education program, teaching Introduction to Applied Statistics, Data Science, and serving as a capstone advisor. Previously she worked as a research analyst for the Tennessee Department of Education and taught high school math in Savannah, GA. Dr. Hartigan earned her PhD from the University of Washington’s College of Education in Educational Leadership and Policy Studies, with a focus in quantitative methods in 2017. She received a dissertation grant award from the American Educational Research Association (AERA) for this research in 2013. She has a Master of Education from the Institute for the Study of Students at Risk at the University of Maine, Orono (2007) and a Bachelor of Arts in Africana Studies from Cornell University (2003). Dr. Hartigan grew up in the Adirondack Mountains of upstate New York and is passionate about the outdoors and conservation. She currently resides with her husband and two dogs on their farm in Chester County, PA, where they raise cattle, goats, turkeys, and chickens and grow hay, corn, and soybeans.
